Full Name: Bradley King
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Class: Blackbelt
Starting City: Nuvema Town
Overall Appearance: Bradley King is a tall young man of about 6 feet. At 135 pounds, he looks a bit lanky, but is extremely well built from years of harsh training. His hair is a dark blue, and it comes down to his eyebrows. His eyes are a bright blue, and greatly contrast with his darker features. He wears a black gi at all times, as he likes to have as much mobility as possible. Over his gi, he wears a hooded gray jacket, with lead weights lining the inside. He wears heavy black combat boots, and carries a bokken. He also wears a red headband as a memento from his father.
Overall Personality: Bradley is not very good at communicating with others, and spends most of his time alone. As a result he is very blunt. He will tell people exactly what he's thinking with no regard to their feelings. Emotional situations are uncomfortable for him, and he tries to avoid them at any cost. While he's very clever and reliable, no one could vouch for that claim; he is fairly distant from his family, and doesn't have any close friends.
History: Bradley Has been training himself for several years. He aspires to become a great warrior and trainer. He has endured harsh training, and spent time amongst wild Pokemon to learn as much about them as possible. He is older than most children who receive a Pokemon, but until recently his insecurities about people also applied to Pokemon. He only just decided that he was ready to finally train a Pokemon.
He trains himself because he believes that he needs to be as strong as his Pokemon if he wants to be the greatest trainer. This motivation stems from his father. As a boy, Bradley looked up to his father Adrian as a hero. He idolized him, and hung on his every word. Adrian was a single father, his wife having died giving birth. He raised Bradley with love and care, and trained with him, but was never too harsh. Adrian was a proud martial artist and Pokemon trainer. His exploits always inspired his son, but one event changed everything.
Adrian had always dreamed of defeating Bruno; a great warrior and trainer, the epitome of strength. He wanted to be a hero to his son. He trained himself and his Pokemon, challenged and lost to Bruno many times. He eventually decided that he was ready to win. He brought Bradley to watch the match against Bruno.
The battle was a disaster, worse than any of his previous losses. Bruno defeated him without losing so much as a single Pokemon. Adrian was crushed. He had been so pathetic in front of his son. He lost it. He attacked Bruno, tears streaming down his face. Even then, he couldn't hit Bruno at all. He attacked wildly, taking hit after hit; when he finally fell, he didn't get back up.
Bradley had been a cheerful child, but became his current self after his father's death. He wanted to avenge his father by defeating Bruno, but he also held him in contempt. The man who had been his hero, shaming himself by attacking another trainer and dying. Bradley would surpass him.
RP Sample: A young Bradley stared wide-eyed at the blue jackal Pokemon in front of him.
"I get to battle you with Lucario?" He asked, excitedly. It would be his first time commanding a Pokemon in battle, and his father's Lucario was one of the strongest he had seen.
"Sure!" laughed Adrian. "He was my first Pokemon, and I'm sure he'd love to help you out."
Adrian took a position on the other side of the field with his Hitmonlee. "Alright, you think you can win your first battle against your old man?"
Bradley nodded confidently. "I've been studying." He looked to Lucario. "Are you ready? Extremespeed!"
Lucario sprinted forward and tackled Hitmonlee with great force.
Adrian snickered. "So you think you can get the jump on me, huh? You're still light years away from beating me, sport."
He ordered his Hitmonlee to attack. "Blaze Kick!" Hitmonlee's leg became wreathed in flames and he jumped at Lucario.
Bradley commanded Lucario to counterattack. "Aura Sphere!" He shouted. Lucario launched the ball of energy, and it struck Hitmonlee, but it didn't stop his attack. The flaming kick hit Lucario square on and dealt serious damage.
"Sorry buddy." Adrian said. "But one more attack and that'll be the match.
Lucario and Hitmonlee both looked like they were reaching their limit, and Adrian was looking to finish up.
"Finishing move!" Adrian Exclaimed. "High Jump Kick!" Hitmonlee used its spring-like legs to jump high in the air and prepared to kick Lucario.
"Perfect." Muttered Bradley. "Lucario, use Detect!" Lucario Calmed itself. As Hitmonlee fell, Lucario perfectly evaded the attack.
Hitmonlee hit the ground hard, and took damage from the force of its attack. It was too much for Hitmonlee, and he fainted.
After returning Hitmonlee to his Pokeball, Adrian walked over to Bradley.
"That was a pretty smart move there. You had it planned out all along, huh?" He patted Bradley's head. "You're gonna be a great trainer some day. You're gonna make me real proud."
Bradley looked up at his father and smiled.
