I think manga in general is too short. I'm not a big fan of Pokemon also, I mostly read Naruto. But I did read some manga that was like Red. It was awesome, but my library didn't have the rest, disappointing.

Pokémon Adventures? BEST MANGA. GOOOD. I think Bruno was my favorite.

Bruno was a total boss. I have read Pokemon Special up until halfway through the DP arc, but I have trouble finding good scans online.

Pokemon Special/Pokemon Adventures. It's the same manga. The one that has all the game protagonists named after the versions.

Yes. I'm not sure how many volumes were released in english, though. And remember, Green is the rival, Blue is the girl. I know the translation says otherwise, but trust me, keep that in mind and it'll be a lot easier for you later on.
